Meet Bill O’Neill

A Lifetime of Service — From the Battlefield to the Bench

Bill O’Neill has spent his life serving Ohio — in uniform, in court, and in the community.
Vietnam Veteran, Bronze Star recipient, and retired Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army.
Former Ohio Supreme Court Justice, defending the rule of law and protecting citizens’ rights.
Registered Nurse, caring for children and families in the ER at Hillcrest Hospital.
Union organizer and journalist, standing up for workers and the truth.
Fighter for Working Families and Justice

Now, at 78, Bill is coming out of retirement because he refuses to sit by while Washington forgets who it serves.
“I’ve spent my life serving Ohio — in the Army, the courtroom, and the emergency room. I’m coming out of retirement because I can’t sit idly by while our government falls apart. It’s time to restore sanity, decency, and common sense to Washington. Public service is a calling, not a career — and I intend to answer that call once more.”
Born and raised in Cleveland, Bill is a proud father of four and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joan of Arc Parish in Chagrin Falls.
“I’ve worn many uniforms in my life — military, judicial, and medical — but they all mean the same thing: service before self.”
